I was able to interview Ms. Camille Dela Cruz Flores, the barangay secretary of Brgy. Ibaba, Malabon City. She is really nice and she answered my questions even though I can see that she was very busy. I asked her if our barangay has a DRRM Plan and she said yes. She handed me the some papers that was about our barangay's DRRM plan and she explained it to me. There is an operational structure that includes 7 systems that vary in function which includes: warning, communications, transportation, evacuation, health and medical, security, and relief. Rescue is the response phase of the plan. Each of these systems will be lead by the assigned barangay officials.

Everything from communications to the evacuations is all planned for and well organized. Though Ms. Camille told me that they still need to update this version of the DRRM Plan, it is good to know that our barangay have this plan and that it is already organized. I also asked her about the projects that the barangay have. She told me that they have a plan to have baking as a livelihood project for the women and they also have feeding programs for children. I hope that the result will be well when the time comes that this DRRM Plan will be executed and that the projects will be successful.
