Participatory Capacities
and Vulnerabilities Assessment

PCVA is essential to understand the strengths and weaknesses of a community when it comes to the hazards that may happen. It determines wheat the community needs and helps in making an effective disaster risk reduction management plan. We did this as an activity by thinking about the different hazards, capacities, vulnerabilities and actions that each of our barangay have. Then we made a map of Metro Manila and made a hazard map. We made a legend for our houses and for the unsafe areas.
The activity made us aware of the different capacities and vulnerabilities of our barangay. Even though we live in different places, I realized that these hazards and such is also present in other places and the only way to avoid it is through the different actions that the barangay will take.
